Football as Rocket Science

After the 4th quarter debacle last night this is a good article to read about sports and academics at Tech. Props to ESPN, although it exagerates that nobody cares about sports it gets the part right about academics.

GO TARHEELS! How crazy was Saturday's game... I'm so mad I didn't watch but who thought you all had a chance?? ;) Not I!

I'm not sympathetic. At all.

At least you have a football team.

Case in point: ""If we win, maybe some frat guys get excited and run around," Sreenivas Vedantam said. "But inside this building, nobody will know the difference. Nothing's going to change in here, win or lose. These people have tests tomorrow.""

We have no team (on the same level), no frat boys to run around, and our midterm season lasts 6 weeks. And here it's not just a building, but the entire campus.

I love Wellesley.

You shouldn't be sympathetic, stringent academic requirements are a good thing and almost everyone at Tech recognizes that otherwise they wouldn't be there.
